There’s few things that bring two people together like overcoming a challenge together.
Escape rooms in Dallas, TX are the perfect choice for both first dates and married couples. They’re great for first dates since the process of puzzle solving doesn’t leave much room for nervousness or awkward silence.
For couples who’ve known each other for a while or many years, an escape room can be a great new adventure for both of you!
There are a few things to keep in mind when planning out your date night so that you both can get the most out of your experience:
1. Plan Ahead
To start, make sure you choose the right Secret Chambers location (we are located in Dallas/Fort Worth, but also have locations in Arlington and Grand Prairie). Research about the number of players allowed per escape room, have a knowledge of the rules, and lastly, choose the room that suits you and your partner the best.
For example, if you’re into horror, but your date isn’t, you might want to try something a little less scary.
2. Arrive on Time
We kindly ask that you and your date arrive 15 minutes before before your scheduled time. This allows time to sign in, debrief, and hang up your coat before entering the escape room.
3. Explore the escape room!
At The Secret Chambers, we currently have SIX escape rooms that are all story-based and themed based on fantasy and/or a certain time period. Dress as pirates and solve the puzzles to escape before the bomb blows in the brig in our third installment of The Pirate Adventure. Or, if you’re looking for more of a challenge, you can try pursuing the notorious outlaws Bonnie and Clyde in our most difficult escape room in The Mafia Adventure.
4. Be Sure to Ask for Hints
One of the best tips of advice we can give you is to ask for hints whenever you’re feeling stuck. Even the most experienced escape artists may need a hint from time to time to guide them. Our Game Masters are here to answer any questions and provide you hints in the event you’re running out of clues and don’t know what to do next.
5. Escape!
Once you’ve “escaped” the chamber, you and your date probably have a lot to talk and laugh about! After your visit, we can take a photo so that you remember your special night. Afterwards, grab some dessert or go on an evening walk and reflect on your escape room adventure!
Our Rage Rooms
Another great choice for you and your date is our rage rooms. Nothing beats a 20-minute session of swinging around your “weapon of choice.” This could be a baseball bat or another tool that makes destroying object super fun and engaging.

Our Quarter Lounge Arcade
Craving a nostalgic experience? A few months ago, The Secret Chambers added the Quarter Lounge Arcade to our lineup of awesome attractions. If you miss the experience of playing arcade games from the 80s and 90s, well now you can – no quarters required! All 30+ games are FREE TO PLAY as long as you purchase a wristband!
Note that the Quarter Lounge Arcade is NOT an escape room, however, if you’re at our Dallas/Fort Worth location, it makes for a perfect addition and is a great way to finish up the romantic evening!
Our Viking Axe Throwing
Last but not least – we most recently acquired Viking Axe Throwing. Whether you’re brand new to axe throwing or have done it many times, this is the perfect date night for you and your significant other to try!
Our axe throwing attraction has a 12-foot lane with two, PRIVATE World Axe Throwing League-sized targets and a wide array of competition-grade axes to use. Choose from 1-hr or 2-hr games for groups of between 2-10 players, if you want to bring multiple people along for the FUN!
